Fashion & Luxury Sustainability
The Fashion & Luxury Summer School, Lugano (Switzerland) offers studies in Business Management and Innovative Technologies for the fashion and luxury industry, with a focus on current industry topics.
The 2015 Summer School modular offering includes:
- a three-day intensive programme for professionals, July 15th through July 17th,
- an optional two-day introductory session (mandatory for students) starting July 13th;
- a conference covering theoretical aspects and industrial practical implementations;
- a networking apéritif;
- one or more company visits.
The fashion and luxury sector is increasingly confronted with the need to systemically address sustainability issues at each phase of the fashion and luxury product life cycle and value chain. This poses specific environmental, social, economic as well as peculiar aesthetic challenges; it also offers great opportunities for value creation. The Fashion & Luxury Sustainability Summer School programme aims at delivering an understanding of these topics and of the theories, methods, innovative technologies and managerial approaches supporting the industry in developing strategies for a viable, ethical future.
The Fashion & Luxury Summer School is situated in a region known as Switzerland’s Fashion Valley, chosen by numerous international fashion and luxury brands for their headquarters and logistic operations. It is strategically positioned close to Como, Italy’s silk and textiles manufacturing centre, and to Milan, the fashion design capital
of Italy. It is also a tourist destination of choice for vacationers from all over the world (www. ticino.ch).
