**Under 18s**

As conscious beings we have been awestruck and inspired by the visual expression of feelings since we were cave men. Now we possess grandiose institutions (read. Museum) that house such works of expression which have overturned governments, stopped wars and ascended consciousness’ throughout history. However, the causality behind these effects has long been presented as mystifying and unquantifiable. On the other hand, Art wouldn’t have reached its current heights had it not been for such quantifications and applications of natural principles (such as basic math geometry, biology, geology etc) done by countless artists in the evolution of man’s society. Somehow general (and sometimes higher) education fails to connect the dots for its students. During the six days of this course we are going to discuss the following topics:

Introduction to the 3 key factors in art: The Artist, The Observer and Intelligence
Language of visual expression and observational methods / What can we make visual art with? How can we see like an artist?
Gesture & Line Drawing / How does the artist practice and hone his Precision?
Application of Geometry in art / What is the obvious secret?
Dimensions & Perspective / How do we express more dimensions on a 2 dimensional plane?
Theory of Light / How to recognize the behavior of light upon material objects?
Root Rectangles and The Golden Section / What are the natural formats of expression?
Theory of Colour / How to create color keys? Can you always create the perfect colour combination?

The Scientific part of this course will focus on providing the necessary apparatus for the appreciation and creation of art. The Philosophical part will focus on tackling the grand question of “Does art exist?” (and how can we define it as a construct), as well as providing a dissection of popular opinion on what classifies as artistic spirit. Last but not least, each session will consist of demonstrations and exercises which will show the practical application of these systems in the expression of thought and feelings on a 2 dimensional plane. The materials needed for this course will be tailored specifically for each student. If you decide to take this course, please contact me at nersesmalakjan@gmail.com
